New York Committee has provided key funds and volunteer efforts to the five boroughs of New York City for over forty years. Today, we are focused on both efforts in celebration of Frederick Law Olmsted’s 200th birthday and his contributions to the five boroughs. Olmsted-Beil House is a historic site in Staten Island of Frederick L. Olmsted’s farm where he lived and used the land as a laboratory for propagation of plants and trees. The New York Committee is committed to raising funds for special garden projects on this property and those funds will be earmarked for the restoration of the Olmsted Beil gardens.
